I have a question: I live in Australia and don’t have cable/foxtel/etc. Is there any website that shows video highlights of the Ashes? Maybe just a few mins play from each day of the test match, wickets, sixes, close calls, etc.

Cricinfo does it but it’s only available to residents of the UK. Doh.

Origin 2: QLD seal the series

They’ve done it. Queensland have won a HISTORIC 4 SERIES IN A ROW.

It’s never been done before. In the history of the competition. But this win is all the more sweeter because:

* 5 of the QLD team were infected with a serious gastric infection in the 24 hours preceeding the game.
…but we still won.
* Inglis (aguably Queenslands most in-form player) was on fire for the first 10 minutes and was taken out by an awful punch in the head cheap shot and didn’t come back for the rest of the game.
…but we still won.
* Bill Harrigan, the 3rd referree, did everything he possibly could do give every decision against Queensland (including a disallowed try that stunned everyone including the commentators!)
…but we still won.
* Queensland sustained multiple injuries. Hannant had to go back out on the field with his knee heavily strapped up regardless of his injury.
…but we still won.

So there can be no doubt this time. No whinging NSW supporters that they didn’t get a fair go an everything went against them. Because every decision did go their way.

And Queensland still won.

RLWC 2008

October 27th, 2008 Timbo No comments

Well, after watching the horrendous opening ceremony last night (seriously, how many times did they plug that new “Australia” movie… are we playing footy or hocking movies here?) I sat down to watch the Kangaroos completely destroy the Kiwis.

Since the Kiwis are (arguably) the second-best team, is there any doubt who will win… again?

I wish it was a little more competitive. It’s a World Cup for fracks sake. :(
